CHICAGO-BASED ART & DESIGN COLLECTIVE THE POST FAMILY TO CREATE LARGE-SCALE ART INSTALLATION FOR SOHO HOUSE CHICAGO’S ‘SATELLITE NIGHTS’ EVENT
The Post Family, supported by Johalla Projects, is very pleased to announce a new collaboration with the Soho House Chicago. On Saturday, June 28, Soho House Chicago will present SATELLITE NIGHTS at the Kinzie Train Depot which will feature a large-scale interior art installation designed and produced by the Chicago-based collective.
The installation — designed exclusively for the event by Chad Kouri and Eric Johnson — draws inspiration from the Soho House Chicago’s new Green Street home in the West Loop and its historic origin as a factory and warehouse. By revitalizing reclaimed building materials, pallets, doors, and windows, the installation will reference the past while simultaneously employing a keen sense of contemporary design and imagery. For this one-night-only event, the project will also serve as a backdrop for the evening’s performance schedule by quietly announcing musicians’ entrances with subtle lighting cues.
The Post Family has partnered with Rebuild Exchange (a sustainable deconstruction initiative) to create the art installation with a zero-waste solution.
